The VELFAC 200 is the window that started it all. Its narrow frames and slim sightlines are the defining characteristics of the design – increasing the natural flow of light into the room while keeping the appearance clean and uncluttered. The same elegant look has been maintained since 1985 because it simply works.

One of the practical advantages of the VELFAC 200 is that all windows in the series, whether they open or not, look identical from the outside. Fixed panels and opening sashes share the same exterior profile, so you can create a consistent, modern façade with clean lines, regardless of how many opening windows you specify.

Opening Functions

The VELFAC 200 is available in multiple opening variants. All share the same exterior look, ensuring a uniform facade throughout the building.

  • Top-guided window

Provides particularly good ventilation – fresh air enters from both above and below. Easy to operate.

Opens outwards on side hinges. Provides good ventilation and the best clear opening area relative to the frame size. Suitable for fire egress routes.

Cannot be opened. Provides unobstructed views and maximum natural daylight.

Can be rotated up to 170° when open, allowing the window to be cleaned easily from inside the home.

  • Side-guided (sliding) window

Slides horizontally along a track. Ideal for limited spaces where an outward-opening sash is not practical. Allows cleaning from inside the home.

  • Exterior: durable polyester powder-coated aluminium. Virtually maintenance-free for its lifetime and well suited to the British climate – rain, wind, and weather resistant. No painting required; maintenance consists of keeping the frames clean and lubricating moving parts a few times a year.
  • Interior: FSC-certified® pine wood. Sustainably sourced – the FSC certification confirms VELFAC meets the highest social and environmental standards for the purchase and use of wood products. Can be finished in clear lacquer or a choice of RAL colours.

The VELFAC 200 comes with triple glazing as standard, rated Energy Class A (A-labelled low-energy windows).

The cavities between the glass panes are filled with argon – a natural, harmless noble gas extracted from the atmosphere. Argon is the most common noble gas in nature and makes the unit highly insulating, helping to reduce the window’s heat loss.

VELFAC Ribo is a simple, functional window system for both new-build and renovation projects, particularly suited to traditional British homes.

It combines a high-quality finish, strong thermal performance and dependable security features in a classic framed design.

Velfac Ribo window

If you are looking for the quality and performance associated with VELFAC but with a more conventional appearance, VELFAC Ribo is an excellent choice. Its composite construction delivers strong thermal performance, and optional glazing bars help create a look that suits traditional British homes.

The VELFAC Ribo range is well suited to both new-build homes and replacement window projects, especially where you want to retain a more traditional appearance. It also makes it easier to replace selected windows without compromising the overall look of the property, as the design fits naturally with existing period features.

Opening functions

VELFAC Ribo is available in a wide range of opening options. Choose the styles that best suit your needs.

  • Top-guided window

Provides effective, controlled ventilation. When opened, the sash allows fresh air to enter at the top of the frame, helping to create a healthier indoor environment and making everyday ventilation simple.

Hinged on one side and opens fully to provide excellent ventilation. Works particularly well in narrower or more restricted spaces. Can serve as an emergency escape route.

Does not open. Ideal where ventilation is not required but maximising natural light is important. Can be manufactured in a wide range of sizes and works well as large glazed panels or alongside other elements in the VELFAC Ribo range.

  • Reversible window

Can be rotated for easier cleaning from inside the home — a practical option for upper floors and harder-to-reach locations.

  • Side-guided (sliding) window

Easy to operate and a practical choice where space is limited. The opening action also makes it easier to clean the outside pane from inside the home.

VELFAC Ribo is available in two exterior options:

Aluminium exterior

The aluminium-clad exterior is highly durable and requires very little maintenance over its lifespan, making it well suited to the UK climate. With aluminium on the outside, there is no need for external repainting. Ongoing maintenance is limited to cleaning and occasional lubrication of moving parts.

Timber exterior

The frames and mullions are made from FSC-certified® pine sourced from northern European forests. The timber is laminated and finger-jointed to improve stability and make efficient use of the raw material. At least 60% of heartwood is used on fully or partially exposed external surfaces.

 

Interior (both options)

FSC-certified® pine wood interior. VELFAC uses FSC-certified® timber, helping to support responsible forest management and high environmental, social, and economic standards in the sourcing of wood products.

VELFAC Ribo is available with double or triple glazing.
