Challenging conditions from the outset – restricted access, narrow street, and installation on the 5th floor. The scope included a large fixed VELFAC window replacement where standard installation methods were not applicable; the Citi Homes Windows team had to be creative and vigilant to successfully execute this project.
The installation was carried out using a crane and vacuum glass manipulator from outside, ensuring safe handling and precise positioning of the unit. Careful planning, coordination, and execution were critical throughout the process. It was also required to ensure permission from the council, which we did for the client.
The result – a smooth, controlled install completed safely and to the highest standard, despite the constraints on site.

The client wanted better insulation, as during winter it felt like the coldest part of the house. We suggested Velfac’s composite doors as a solution, knowing their insulation strengths and durability.
The new system maximises glass area and minimises visible frame, bringing in significantly more natural light and a clearer connection to the garden. With slim aluminium-clad profiles matching the existing windows, the result is a consistent and modern appearance that enhances both performance and aesthetics.
